Hiking the Enchantments
August 25-27, 2013
Two years ago Matt and I hiked to Colchuck Lake and while there we thought it was such a beautiful location, that we had to come back. But we thought, next time, we would continue on into the Enchantments. Planning for this hike started in February when I put our names into the hat for the permit lottery. Jake had been hiking with me on several day hikes and I invited him as well. Kind of a Father, Son, and Son-in-Law adventure. In early March I was notified that our application had been for overnight stay at Lake Colchuck had been approved. We all trained throughout the summer at the gym, riding bikes, and taking day hikes. Preparations also included purchasing a tent, sleeping bags, a campstove, backpacks, etc. This will be our first backpacking trip together, and hopefully not the last.

Hiked to Colchuck Lake and set up Camp

Hiked up Aasgard Pass to the Enchantments, visited several lakes, and returned to camp at Colchuck Lake
